Elm Park

This Victorian property near Brockwell Park was in need of a full renovation (there was no bathroom) and retained a cramped and unimpressive kitchen that wasn't suitable for a family.

The space was opened up and extended with a full-length side return and a rear extension to enlarge the kitchen and dining space. The existing level change from front to back of the property created an opportunity to excavate the floor level and increase the ceiling height.

The roof of the side return is fully glazed to maximise natural light with careful detailing of the concealed gutter and brickwork parapet. 

The industrial design, Crittal-style doors, and sparing use of exposed steel, Polished concrete floor and brickwork create a clean, masculine backdrop.

A new bathroom was built between the bedrooms creating the perfect home for a young couple and child.
